Is it possible for the Magic Gardens to be more magical? Probably not, but we're still trying our best this Friday, June 26 in this week's Bombs Away Summer Film screening of Dr.Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. This famed dark comedy is set at the height of the tensions between Russia and the United States, when all it would take to destroy the world was one push of a button.
This Friday's leaders include assistant directors of Project for Nuclear Awareness Kim-Thao Nguyen and Ian Ramsey-North, as well as renowned film expert Dr. Martin Novelli of Oceans County Community College and The University of the Arts, in what is anticipated as a unique discussion with a fusion of nuclear policy, youth activism, and the arts.
Part One of "Einstein's Letter" and "Trinity and Beyond" brought an impressive and wide-ranged audience together for an extremely informative discussion (led by Ed Aguilar and Emily Gleason) on nuclear weapons topics and action steps for disarmament.
Feel the 'love this Friday on South Street in Philadelphia! More details on reserving your spot can be found at the Project for Nuclear Awareness site. Check out the schedule for our upcoming screenings, and stayed tuned for more details on our final all-day festival at the beginning of August.
